Need a Bluetooth adapter with lowest latnecy, USB? PCIE?

I'm getting my airpods 3rd gen in two days, My mobo (pc) doesn't support bluetooth, I really want the lowest latency possible, apparently airpods 3 support BT 5.0, I was thinking of buying a USB 3.2 adapter but I heard Pcie antennas (which also come with wifi) are better? but also... its inside a case... under a wooden desk.. wouldn't it be faster to get a USB 3.2 BT 5.0 USB adapter plugged into my monitor just a few inches from my airpods/face

Or should I get on of those Pcie bluetooth cards and place my pc on my desk, then it would be closer with only tempered glass in between, faster wifi wouldn't hurt since i also use a external usb wifi adapter as well, but BT latency minimization is my #1 priority.
