5800X3D vs 12700K vs 5900X

I found a 5900X that was around 390 USD and the 12700K,5800X3D we’re both similarly priced to each other. I wanted to know which CPU is best for video editing and gaming in 4K

The 5800X3D is optimized for gaming and falls a little behind the regular 5800X in productivity tasks, from what I have seen in reviews so far.

 

For 4k gaming your limiting factor is really going to be the GPU; I'd expect all three chips to be neck and neck there. 

 

 

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Video editing is 12700k EASY. 5800x3d is your worst option. 5900x is at least close to the 12700k so that isn't a bad option either

if you value editing more go with the 5900x, for gaming, go with the 3D, what amd has done here for gaming is sick, but assuming you can hit 4k/120fps it doesn't really matter.
