I currently own a single fan rtx 2060 6gb. I realized yesterday when I was streaming some halo that my card was 80-85°C warm. thats when i realized i need a new gpu. i looked online and i found a great deal on an asus dual rtx 3050 oc ed. would that be a upgrade or a  downgrade from what I currently have?

thanks

What.

80-85c is the normal temp of a 2060 mini. Also before you do anything just clean out the dust of the card with compressed air or a pc blower.

Nothing is broken here your card is working and replacing it because it's running at a normal temp (maybe a little more because of dust) is just silly.

oh ok. I didn't think it was broken, I just thought maybe I need more cooling. I thought 80° was obscure. thanks! but would it be a good idea to upgrade to dual fan or should I stop bitching?

Instead of wasting hundreds of dollars to replace it with a GPU with 2 fans....Undervolt it to drop temps if you prefer from your single fan GPU... less voltage = less power = less temps, very similar performance levels though.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

The 3050 will be a worse card.

The mini is made to run a bit hotter because it's smaller. Don't bother upgrading just clean it out and worst case replace the thermal paste.

It doesn't even need to run cooler its fine as is.

Just set your fan boost up from a lower temp. Like 90% fan speed when your card started reaching 55C or 60C. That helped me during my RTX2060 days. This will give your card fan to cope when heatsink starts to become warmer to hot.

And check to improve your case ventilation as well. Your RTX 2060 is still better than an RTX 3050. Thermally re-paste it if you know how and confident doing it.
