_______________________________________________________________________________

Welcome to another build, this build will encompass the beauty of water and ice together, in a water-cooling build. This build will be focused on aesthetics and performance, demonstrating the power of the GTX 780, while showing off the cool blue glacier interior.

This will be a white and blue theme with custom modding to the side panel window as well as any removal of drive bays in order to get as functional and clean of a look as possible.

Instead of using html, simply use the picture frame icon in the toolbar and put the img source url there. ;D

LOL I know that but unfortunately when you use a link on another forum it doesnt automatically generate the *.jpg url so you have to have it generated then enter the .jpg... ugh this is a pain LOL

That is a very nice rig. And also some very nice photo's. What camera did you use?

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.

Q1: I am also going to be making a similar type of colour scheme (with added black) I was hoping to paint the backplate also, may I ask the process and method on how you painted the GPU backplate?

Q2: Does this backplate fit on any reference design GTX 780?

This is amazing ._. Kudos to you Sir!

Edit: Also the process on how you painted the rads :) <3

Thanks yea this is my first time using pastel and liked the outcome, the blue is a nice light blue (glacier like ;)

Looks nice :) I can never get away with a blue and white color scheme...

Very clean and professional, looks awesome!

Thank you I really try to pay attention to the details that matter, like the painting of the backplates, and I/O sheilds etc, it really changes the build :)

Unfortunately this was under a budget for a client so I couldnt go all out, as well the cable management in this small form factor case was truly a miracle that I got it closed! LOL This case is alot smaller and leave no room for cable management. A non-modular PS requires alot of cable management, and that I had to do indeed ;)

That is a very nice rig. And also some very nice photo's. What camera did you use?

I used my sisters camera at the end of the build, it is a very expensive camera, and I will be purchasing one not as pricy but loved the manual focus and lenses.

A1) painting the backplate, along with anything in a build (please see the video) but takes around 3-4 light coats of paint of your desire, after this layer by layer (dont spray to close otherwise it will clog up and create bubbles and drip) at which point you will need to take a fine gritt sandpaper and smooth off the paint you have done then re-do it.

When painting there is never really any fear of screwing up because you can just wait for it to dry, then sand it down with 1000/2000 gritt sandpaper and re-apply another coat of paint until you have it just right.

Once you are satisfied with the pain you MUST apply a clear Lacquer, this protects the paint from scratches, as well puts a coat of gloss (or you can get no gloss) over your paint job and really pulls out the color in the paint. You should do 2-3 thick coats of this lacquer and let dry.

The rad painting you need to tape off the fins

900x900px-LL-3ba1b4a1_IMG_2993.jpeg

then you can spray to your hearts desire, the rad is the same if you see build up, you can sand it down and do it again no big deal if you screw up with paint :)

A2) Yes this backplate is just a reference 780 backplate I painted white

So thank you all for your comments I'd love to hear more and you can check out all the mods I had to do in my video above :) as well it was voted for mod of the month on overclock.net, so if you really felt in a giving mood you could vote for me  :)LOL :D
