My 165Hz monitor won't go over 85Hz on overwatch

Title. 165Hz does show up in settings, and when selected, it runs at 165Hz fine when on homescreen and even in other games (only tested rdr2 so far). My monitor is the asus vg248QG. before I switched from hdmi to displayport it had an option for variable refresh rate, which would sometimes allow it to run 144Hz on ow. Having this option off would only give my 85. How can I fix this? All help is appreciated :)

Try running in borderless window mode.
