Any idea which type of connection is this?

It's a regular fan header and you can connect any fan to it.

I have a few arctic case fans, but I cant connect them since the contacts themselves arent poking out (as seen in the 2nd picture.)

You can connect the wires directly.

A gpu fan adapter would work with standard 4pin pwm case fans. https://www.amazon.com/CRJ-Splitter-Adapter-Sleeved-Graphics/dp/B07T95C68T
