Install another Windows in second drive

Hello,

I have Asus Maximus xiii,

I had Windows 10 installed in M.2 drive , now I upgraded it to Win 11 and in became 'digital license linked to my Microsoft account'.

The question:

I need a second Windows in another drive , so what will happen if  I install Windows in the second HDD using my the same Win10 Key? will the first Windows be deactivated? can both Windows run with the same key and the same machine ?Should I buy another key?

As per the License agreement, you would need a new license of Windows, same if you were to use it under a VM.

Only 1 Windows can be active with the same key. So as you'll switch between drives, each Windows will activate/deactivate, and eventually risk blacklisting your key. This means now, you'll need to buy 2 Windows licenses. Microsoft Customer Support won't be able to help you if your key has been blacklisted.

 

Is there a specific reason why you need 2x Windows on the same system?

Thanks for reply ,, Actually I want to have a clean Windows + my main software 'Cubase' without any other programs ,  ,,,and the second Windows will be for all other programs (office , adobe ... ) ,,I noticed that when I have fresh Windows with only Cubase installed, all system works smooth and fast..
