Currently I have a 2070 and it is serving me just fine on 1440p. However, I would like to upgrade to something beefier such as a 3070 or higher spec. I do not know when the best time to upgrade would be as prices are dropping for both my GPU and others (Resellers and retailers). Any advice on when I should buy and sell so that I save the most?

Note: I bought my 2070 for $700 last April and do not mind resellers and cites such as ebay

Thanks

If you're happy with the performance you're getting now it makes little sense to upgrade. But, if you really want a new GPU then only you can decide that.

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!

Sure, you can perhaps sell your RTX 2070 now and snag a decent price for it, but it'd also mean that you'd have to spend more on a new card as prices, while going down as of late, hasn't quite gone down to MSRP yet.

Conversely, you can wait for prices of new cards to normalize in the coming weeks/months before snagging a new card, but that would mean your RTX 2070 would be worth less then. But honestly, the RTX 2070 has 8GB of VRAM and should be fine for 1440P gaming, unless you want very high refresh rate on a high refresh rate monitor.

If the RTX 2070 is doing the job you require it to do, why upgrade? The decision is entirely up to you....decide on whether it's a 'need' or a 'want', and how much you're willing to pay in either case.

If you think your performance is fine don't bother upgrading. No point. Might as well wait until the 4000 series comes out, or see what Intel is like with their pricing of their cards.

It's not so bad if you buy a complete computer and just take the GPU out, selling the rest.
