Opinions on this All-in-one

spwath

I could see this doing really well for the average Joe who might want something like an iMac, but wants to stick with windows.  The Hyper-threading and the memory size will do well for something like Photoshop and typical video editing software for youtube.  And the 2TB HDD will give them some room to save RAW images and videos, with room for their iTunes library.  The typical guy or girl who wants something for their home office or bedroom that they can edit pictures on before they upload them to facebook, maybe mess around with 3DS Max or edit their GoPro videos, but also looks good and minimalist is who this is for.  Hell, I bet the majority of people who own this will think it's 1920x1080, won't know that it's IPS or even care, and know or care even less about the GPU.  Just imagine what goes through our minds when we look at like Dishwashers and microwaves, and realize that's how people in BestBuy feel when they look at these lol.  "Ohhh look how wide it is!  And it has wifi and a camera so i can Facetime!  and 2TB of 'memory'"

You don't think someone who is interested in something with Hyperthreading and RAM for specific purposes like photo and video editing will take an interest in the specs they're buying? I would expect them to care about content creation hardware as much as I care about gaming hardware, so they would have specialist knowledge about lenses and cameras and stuff that I don't.

Their knowledge base would be different to mine but I doubt they'd the an "average Joe". I think anyone looking to spend $1500 on a pc would be doing it for a reason and so they would be taking an interest in stuff like that.

For the issues I have with this and all in one PCs in general, the fact that the negative review on the site is someone who didn't bother to read what they were buying before they bought it and then decided this was the product's fault and that it was crap and deserved two stars is infuriating.

Yea but they more than likely won't know that it has hyperthreading and a good amount of RAM.  Just that when they tell the guy at BestBuy that they just bought their first DSLR and are excited about editing pictures they take, he suggests something like this.  $1500 isn't that much for a typical mid 30's married couple who are excited about working on their blog or something.  Especially when they are comparing this to an iMac, which is it's closest competitor.

You might as well just get a laptop so then you could at least take it wherever you want. :/

That's actually quite interesting, but I would still rather have a tower PC instead.

Yeah. Seems like it would be nice for a video editing PC that needs to look nice. You can have full 1080p video and the controlls next to it because it is wide. Has good specs for editing too.

I don't understand why people wan't all in ones

Cleaner and look nicer on a desk than a full tower and monitor. I have a gaming rig, but if I was going to buy a computer for the living room or bedroom I would definitely go with an iMac or something similar due to wanting to keep the clean just a screen look.
