Lian Li L connect 2 software stopped working randomly

was working just fine 3 days ago and one boot the software stopped seeing the fan controller, tried reinstalling the software, updating the bios and amd chipset drivers, tried replugging the plugs on the motherboard and fan controller and still nothing, unsure what else to try, have contacted the place i bought it from and they said to send it back and lian li asked me to update bios and chipset drivers and try another usb 2.0 header but i havent got another one (iTX board) so now im lost, do have another lian li fan controller i could try but worried that something will brick or kill it
