Yes, you can always run just one stick of RAM without issue. You will, however, take a performance hit due to it only being single channel. Two sticks in dual-channel will always be better.

How do you mean that exactly? What do you use your system for? Generally you can run with one stick of RAM but two sticks in dual-channel mode does get you some better performance in games. Although not that much but it is an improvement

Thanks I was just wondering cause I got one guess I'll trying to get other one lol. Also want to build a gaming PC for the least amount of money I'm poor an am not above using 2nd hand of off brand parts I've found sum off brands performe better than name brand
