So my new computer was working great! I built it two days ago

i7 4770k

asus maximus vi hero

evga gtx 780

corsair 650w psu

16gb gskill ram

I decided to move it to a better location (about 10 feet away...) So i powered down the PC, turned off the psu, unplugged it and after plugging the power cable back in, no signs of life. No light on the motherboard, no power up, nothing

I have tried reseating the motherboard power connections, swapping the psu, replacing the mobo battery, clearing the cmos, removing the mobo entirely.. no dice

any other steps i can take? :(

did you test the power outlet with another device ? which i assume you did since you pulled the board.

try a different psu or memory. maybe just one mem stick.

your next step would be to see if the board powers on with NO cpu and NO ram installed (no it wont post)

outside the case

just the 24pin and 8 pin connected.

This happened to me. The maximus hero 24 pin isn't great at holding the power connector in. Push it in even if it doesn't seem loose just to make sure that isn't the issue. Could've came loose when you moved it.

Isf it's an Asus board, does it have a MEM OK button? Try it because something similar happen to my Impact board a while ago and it "fixed" itself with that.

BTW just curious.... When you unplugged your power cable, did you unplugged it first from the wall outlet or did you just leave it connected to the wall and unplugged it from the PSU? Sometimes that little "spark" that it makes when you unplug or plug your power cable to your computer when the power cable is still connected to the wall jack can cause a small surge and fry your PSU/Mobo (or a fuse). I've seen that happen with some HP and Dell PCs back in the office.
