As title reads, for me it is a tie between Fermi and G92.

Fermi delivered very powerful tesselation performance, with a design that really does well with higher resolutions and AA. This design though not very efficient, is still a viable choice even today.

Well, GeForce 8800 GTS dominated 2 generations at that time. It is still a decent card relative to it's age.

i dont think any gpu has managed 2000mhz on the core and 2000mhz on the memory yet so im not impressed.

Who could forget when AMD launched the Athlon 64's. A 2.4 GHz Athlon 64 out performed a 3.0 GHz+ Pentium 4.

The 3dfx Voodoo graphics cards were truly amazing for their time.

 

The first really significant jump in graphics fidelity as it could move a decent amount of polygons and don't forget the first cards to support sli.
