Worth upgrading from i5-8400 to i5-9600k?

My Cpu bottlenecks my GTX 1070 and i watched now some Benchmarks for the i5-9600k and would like to upgrade to it from a i5-8400.

is this worth?

it's a decent frequency increase, and a bit of an IPC bump.

So you'll def get some improvement, but it's not going to be huge.  If you're getting a good price, it may be worth it?

depends on your mainboard.. is it a z370 or z390 board?

even at stock speeds, it's a sizable frequency bump on the 9600k

well.. it's a faster cpu and better clocks stock. but you can't overclock it with that mainboard.

Go for a base 9600, non-k

maybe you can do some.. but that's why A and H boards are cheaper.. less options.. but good for non K series cpu's.
