WTF youtube comments!

So lately my youtube comments would not load. I thought it was just me using extra bandwidth elsewhere but then I got this.

So now I get this button instead of comments and if I click it it opens a new tab with all the comments and the video thumbnail up top.

 

Is there any way to fix this? It's getting annoying.

 

(completely unrelated my chromebook keys feel extra clicky right now)

I tend to browse comments and see the discussion on my tech channels.
