Nickel plating a laptop cooler for Liquid metal

Devryd

Hi,
this week, I will likely be recieving my framework laptop. I plan on using liquid metal instead of regular thermal paste, as I had great results in my last laptop with it. I know, that LM will slowly corrode the copper cooler. I have nickel plating solution at home and I would like to try plating the cooler first. Does anybody have experience with diy nickel plated coolers and LM?
I know, der8auer made a video a few years ago, but he said, that his nickel layer was to thin, which should be an easy fix, by plating a little longer.
Thanks for your answers

Snazzy Labs had liquid metal in his MacBook Pro for 3 months and you can see the results for yourself here:
