URGENT! - Opinion on a possibly smashed in MOBO from Best Buy delivery to a UPS store

Title says it all basically - Genius that packed this put the darn power supply on TOP of the motherboard and then shipped it..

My pictures to show the areas of concern (in red and green) - mostly looks like the heatsinks took the brunt of the trauma but also the bottom of the RAM clips, plus the bottom right hit an m.2 slot and sata connections.
the GREEN one is the I/O on the side of the motherboard also definitely left impressions on the back especially the wifi/bt antenna jacks.

unpictured - the back.. there are lots of little impressions in the plastic around solder spots and hardware connections.. there was also a loose baggie of hardware that come up from inside the box and looks like it was crushed between the back of the mobo and the rest of the box..

I checked all the pins around the perimeter, checked to see if heatsinks and ram clips seem attached still, and yes i popped the CPU cover and it looks like theres no bent pins or obvious visual damage other than on the bag.. just showing where it got hit.

Concern -- the PCB layers could be stressed or cracked and im paranoid to even test the board because if i throw everything on and theres a bad connection i might smoke other components..

Should i not bother/risk with this at all and just return it? I managed to reserve a new one at Microcenter (they didnt have it in stock the other day) but its like 1.5hr drive and they can only hold it for a few days before restocking it. Only perk with bestbuy is i have that dumb total tech thing with extra warranty stuff. I obviously need to test everything i got ASAP before return/exchange periods blow over.

MOBO: MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4 LGA 1700 Intel Z690 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard

i thought, the way best buy displayed it, that it would be in 2 separate boxes.. I chose the delivery to a local UPS store vs BB itself as it was somehow 2 days faster (even tho tracking had it sitting in the city for over a day and the BB is only like 20mins away.. you math that one out for me). And i chose the UPS store vice home cuz i thought maybe they wont give it the usual kicked down the street treatment.

Thanks for your opinions!

So when you asked Best Buy to return for a non damaged one, what did they say?

I would more than likely run it, but you're obviously worried about it.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

bestbuy (at least my local one) has been pretty useless beyond basics so i didnt even bother contacting them yet.. they just blame stuff on the delivery people (which is fair, but the packing people should have known better). I'm sure theyd be willing to exchange but they dont hold anything locally and im just waiting another 4days to risk delivery smash part 2, electric boogaloo.

and yes im concerned about delays in more damage + delivery pushing me out of my return window for this or any other components as i leave for a work trip soon and wont be back for awhile. its basically risk the build now and if it works COULD anything bear its claws later is this type of damage only seen immediately or its fine? OR i just dont bother and go get the other board from Microcenter?

First PC build in over a decade - paranoid

This is how I received a shipped psu and thankfully, it worked fine. Of course, a mb is a bit more fragile. I'd probably try to return it locally if I were in your shoes.

Unless you take it out of the bag, I can't really tell anything about it. It's probably fine.

Yeah, I'd run that.

All I see is minimal cardboard damage...

I would too, but if it's something OP is going to worry about for the life of the build, it might make more sense for them to return it.

I did, everything seems fine..

I'm assuming the modern PCBs can take more of a hit i just dont know if the board flexed enough to crack of stress traces in inside the board.

Just wasnt sure the current consensus on if these things are much more tanky then they used to be (ie esd isnt really a major concern but we used to worry about that)

I appreciate everyones input! ill just start the build and see if it goes.. i just didnt want to cook other shit if somehow power delivery was effed up

My rampage II in the last 2 weeks has been through dry ice and LN2. I won't describe my brother shoving it into a box it didn't fit In though. Lol.

Boards are pretty resilient in most cases. I'd return it if the board doesn't work or to get an Asus board instead.
