Windows 11 Workstation Performance and Stability

**UPDATE** (Feb 8 2022)

 

I installed Windows 11 (Ryzen, 5900x). The system is really snappy and apps like Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One are noticeably smoother and are stable. The overall perfomance improvements are not dramatic but noticeable. Windows 11 obviously needs to be refined, but it's stable for my workflow. Gaming performance seems to be the same as Windows 10.

Is there anyone using Windows 11 with Adobe softwares, or other photo/video softwares? Is the Windows 11 performance and stability up to the task? If so what are your specs, CPU, GPU and motherboard BIOS version.

 

I currently have Windows 11 on my laptop that I don't use for work, and seems to work fine. I'm thinking of moving my workstation to Windows 11.

Using all of those even on unsupported platform and it's a bit more responsive than W10 was.

I've been running Windows 11 on-off on my Ryzen 7 system since it was in public Insiders. It hasn't been a good experience and still today I have some issues.

The AMD patch helped a lot, but I often find moments of stutters in normal Windows performances, and playing Warzone has been a rocky ride as well.

 

I'm hoping to see some more improvements over time, but there are days where I could just roll back.

Is your BIOS/UEFI up-to-date?

Last I checked, yes. I regularly monitor for that, but it's probs worth another look.

If you disable fTPM, is your issue solved? (warning: before you do: make sure BitLocker is not used, and you are not using Windows Hello technology (pin, facial, fingerprint, etc.), else you won't be able to log back in...)
