Thanks! It worked perfectly. Now I'll try booting off of it.

BTW I have one of those tiny little drives and kinda have my motherboard IO a little off so I had to pull it out with pliers LOL

Yo, hey guys, would you think i could get some help from here too? i just need answer for a complicated question

 

I have a Hdd with win8 from my laptop, i was wondering if i could partition it, and install linux on the partition, then use the HDD on my desktop and boot into linux without dealing with any win8 bs???

How would I know I can boot from one?

Just download your iso.  

 

Use this program to make a bootable USB http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/  

 

Plug it in to your PC and reboot. While your PC is turning on, spam the button that is dedicated to switching boot device. (in my case it is F11)

 

Load into ubuntu, press "try ubunutu"

 

Turn off your PC b/c you realize that ubuntu is terrible

 

Download a Manjaro iso from http://manjaro.org/get-manjaro/

 

Use the same program as before to create a new USB.

 

Load up Manjaro and install a nice Linux OS with an Arch base and enjoy your life :)
