I have linked that thread in my post original post.

CPU-Z indicated you're still on an old revision of the drivers, are you sure it updated successfully? Check the Nvidia Control Panel > Help > System Info.

I don't think its temp related

If this is at 100 percent load then I tend to agree it's not temp related.

VRM could be at fault here. OP, you can download MSI Afterburner and set your GPU's power limit to its minimum. Just pull the toggle all the way to the left and hit apply. If this resolves your issue your card is still usable, you'll just have to do with a little less performance.

Hi @pranav deogade

Does black screens come up while gaming?

Are you on Win10?

Well, I got black screens for 5months..till I think I solved it recently.

1. Clean install Win10

2. Download latest sound driver from your MoBo web page.

3. Install it vis Device manager - do not install app what comes with it. Only update driver.  Because Win10 in default will come with 2019 year release.

4. Use headphones/speakers and mic ONLY with 3.5mm jacks. NEVER USB.

  • Download the newest drivers for your card here
  • Run DDU and completely remove your old display drivers.
  • Disable your NIC so Windows doesn't try to automatically install your display drivers after you run DDU.
  • Run a few games or benchmarks and see if the issue persists.

Please don't resort to this yet, it could be something as simple as your display driver being out of date, 10/6/21 according to GPU-Z.

Hi @Founders @pranav deogade

Before my "I think I solved it" I have done this:

1. Bought new PSU  700gold to - 1000w Seasonic Prime 80 gold

2. Clean install of Win10

3. Contacted with my GPU manufacturer - asked for help. Verified driver, DDU and all other stuff. Nothing worked out.

4. Searched web for lot of information.

5. Run a lot of stress tests. RAM, GPU.  - Tests come back with 0 errors and low GPU - temps -65C.

6. Checked Event Viewer - Critical error/Kernel Power 41 (63). Does your has the same info?

7. Startet to read out about Kernel power and win10.

8. Somehow got this massage for updating sound driver. I think from Microsoft help center.

9. Tried it.

Well I hope it works - since then no blacks.

Regards,

Okutida

Monitor your temperatures while gaming then. If this card was never serviced, almost 8 years is a long time to be using same thermal pads and paste. This card has no issue with its BIOS as I am using one too.

I am not even running that bios, I am also connected via DP. I do not suffer from that problem, your issue is also most likely not related. GPU core temperature is one part of the equation, what about VRM temperatures?

Hi @pranav deogade

I forgot to ask, but what EVENT VIEWER says/reports - when screen goes black?

What kind of event type black screen registers?

Kind regards,

Okutida

For what it's worth, I am also experiencing black screens with my GTX 780.

It started last week for no apparent reason. I went through all the DDU stuff. Without a driver the PC ran fine with the GPU connected. After installing a driver, it did the black screen thing again.

I tried drivers 436, 456 and 472. None of them worked.

Weird thing is, these are old drivers that I remember having used in the past. So absolutely no idea why the GPU suddenly refuses to co-operate. As soon as all the drivers are uninstalled in safe mode with DDU, the PC just runs fine with the GPU connected.
