I was playing on my gtx 970 with an 144hz monitor. Since i sold both the gpu and the monitor, now im using my processor GPU, Intel i5 8400 with UHD 630 gpu connected to an 60hz monitor. The issue is that, my games fps are 70, but it looks like my monitor is stuck at 30 hz. I know the difference between 144 hz and 60 hz, and i also know it between 60 and 30 fps. Can anyone help? Is it an hdmi issue? In the photo you can see it says 60 fps, but i swear its moving like 30. I tried to set it to 30 hz and there is no difference, soo?

Are you using the same cable you used to hook your old video card to your old monitor?

Is it at least HDMI 1.2 rated?

What resolution are you currently running?

Hi! Try doing these if you haven't tried them yet:

  1. Completely uninstall your previous GTX gpu and monitor driver(s)

  2. Install a fresh and updated Intel UHD Graphics 630

  3. Install the correct(digitally signed) *.inf or installer for your connected monitor

  4. Revisit both your Adapter and Monitor settings after and see if they are all correct

  5. Check your actual monitor analog settings(the one that you can set using the physical buttons provided on your monitor) for some frequency-related settings. Sometimes, resetting it to factory settings can fix it.

  6. Then try playing your game again to at least benchmark it

Let me know.

Also make sure V-Sync is turned off in games.

(That will make it that if the 60fps cannot be reached it will stick to 30fps.)

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

I need 2.0 for 60 hz? Didnt every hdmi support 60hz?

There's no such thing as an HDMI 2.0 cable and yes 1080p at 60 Hz should be no problem. Since the monitor says it's running 60 Hz I second @HanZie82's suggestion of checking v-sync.
