New monitor has vertical lines because of a USB drive

udobenliedivana

A month ago I both the BenQ PD2705Q. Everything was fine right until I started getting vertical lines, sometimes with flickering, every time I opened any PDF file through my USB drive, from which I work in a virtual machine.

A photo with those lines I took just after I booted back to my PC:

Text from a PDF file in one of the lines:

The lines remain, sometimes you can even see text on them from a previous PDF file, like a burn-in, but once they disappear - they disappear and no longer appear until I reopen a PDF through the USB drive.

Is it possible that the USB drive and the monitor interfere in some way? I have been using the monitor just with my PC for 5 days now without putting the USB drive and everything is fine.

Are we supposed to be able to see something wrong in this picture?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

The only vertical lines visible are the darker and lighter shaded gray stripes on your wallpaper. Are those not supposed to be there?
