Latest GeForce Game Ready driver

So yesterday, Forza Official released a news article about game crashes with Ray Tracing enabled when applying Liveries/Changing Colors.

 

Do you guys think this will backfire badly on Nvidia?

I have also had trouble with my G-Sync monitor since the update on the 14th of January, 2022.

Do you guys think they should be liable for the damage caused?

Will there be any damage?

How would this backfire on Nvidia? Driver fuckups happen all the time. Hell, AMD's drivers were one constant fuckup for like three entire years and yet Radeon is still kicking. And what could possibly be considered damage from this? "Oh no, I wasn't able to play FH5 which caused serious emotional distress, pay me money!"

Assuming this is Forza Motorsports/Horizon games. Forza games do not support ray tracing officially.

Hmm, They wouldn't be paying us money. The drivers are kicking my ass in everything, Not just Forza.

No it is not. Forza Horizon games do no support Ray Tracing officially, if Turn10 was trying to add RT and the game they programmed was crashing, it is their problem not Nvidias.

Yes, They do. Forza Horizon 5 Has ray tracing that has worked up until this update from Nvidia. Specifically where the Ray Tracing is utilized is where the crashing happens.

Forza Vista, The audio ray tracing??? How do you explain this? They clearly talk about it before the games release. It has ray tracing implemented. To be clear, I am not saying this couldn't be Turn10's fault. They do make mistake quite Often. Look at Horizon 4, Horizon 3. Both are completely screwed, But I do believe this is partially Nvidia's fault too.

Maybe this is card specific. What card are you running? *Technically* My card does not support Ray Tracing however it is enabled through Nvidia. Maybe this is just a problem with the 1080 and 1660 Because they are the only GTX Cards RT capable without Dedicated RT Cores.

That is just one user reporting crash in one particular game, which is not even a Forza game. How is that relevant to anything you claimed here?

I'm sorry, What? I took that screenshot and it was sent to all PC players from what I'm aware of.

That is a single report from someone who's done zero troubleshooting linking one thing to another with no testing. This is proof of nothing.

Read what? I would love to acknowledge this officially recognized problem but so far you've not shown any sources for your claims that there is one. In fact the only thing you've linked is a single user having a problem with WoW and blaming it on drivers without any testing.

If I knew how to revert my driver version I could do my own testing, I do not have the time nor the energy to do so.

I'll be honest, I just thought that was a screenshot. 

 

Ok, so they acknowledged a problem. What will happen is it will eventually be fixed and everyone will go about their business switching liveries. 

 

There will be no ramifications, no one is liable for anything and there are no damages. Its a driver glitch, this has happened for decades, nothing is perfect. Its also a video game and customers aren't losing money or lives over it.

Lets set the table straight. Steam version of FH5, which I own, has no ray tracing option in settings. You keep making claims that RT in FH5 results in crashes to desktops AND you made claims that official Forza Motorsports/Horizon account on twitter made an announcement, which we both asked and you provided us with a random link from Nvidia forums in which a user was reporting crashes in World of Warcraft, not FH5.

Nope. This is Forza as a whole. I see now that The game recognizes an RT capable card and enables the feature. I provided you with a screenshot of the official message from Turn10 and they said themselves they identified this as a driver problem. The link I provided I misread as recent when it was in all reality not the 511.23 Driver patch and it was for 4 months ago, I then said to disregard the link but no, You chose not to.

I believe the G-Sync monitor is related to the Panel, I have a separate thread going for that. I would also like to thank you for thinking about this.

I also don't foresee any damage being caused. I was just curious about what other may think.
