Raspberry PI with Retropie Led Strip control

Hi all!

i'm trying to control a Led Strip using my raspberry Pi, i've made the full circuit and found the code, everythign works fine beside the fact that when i turn on my raspberry the led strip turns on white at full bright and even if i use a python script to make the led strip fade red the strip is still lit white when the red light is set to 0 (or "off) though, when the red light is set to 255 (or max brightness) the led actually becomes red.... i'm not a code master nor a linux master, can anyone help me understand how to shut down the white color please? ^^" thanks!
