Fast connection on old pc but slow on new one.

So, I just builded a brand new gaming pc for my friend and strangely his connection is super slow (he is using a wifi card with two antennas). You could think that because he's using wifi it's normal, but the old pc he had (an office one) was in the same exact position and had triple the connection speed. We tried changing the dns settings but still he's doing 11 mbs when the old pc did 40. Any tips?

It's a TP-Link TL-WN881ND

Congrats you/your friend wasted 10-20 bucks on a wificard that doesn't even have Wireless AC/AX meaning your bound to get less speed out of it
It also doesn't support the 5Ghz band which is a big problem when it comes to getting high speeds

This is the reason you check what standards its supports

Ok, he's at least a bit happy that it's not a serious problem + at least he gets a constant low ping in games. What card would you recommend for playing games for his max wifi speed (80-90 mbs)

A wificard like the tplink ac 1200 (pcie x1) would have been fine
Or something like the gigabyte gc-wbax200 (supports wifi 6)
