What should I choose?

I got 2 choices. Get a 770 now or get a 760 now and get the equivalent of the 780 in the 800 series next year. What should I do?

No one knows what the 8XX series would be like so we can't tell whether it is worth it over the 7XX series. If you want your rig and now then buy the GTX 770. If you can wait, then buy a GTX 880.

Just get the 770 now, reason being is because prediction buying is almost always going to bite you back in the arse if you're looking for the BEST performance. Like @nsyedhasan said, no one know yet when the 800 series cards are coming so the best bet is the 770

What do you mean nothing is clear? After releasing a new series every year, NVIDIA, a massive company, may choose to not release a new series??

What do you mean nothing is clear? After releasing a new series every year, NVIDIA, a massive company, may choose to not release a new series??

what i meant was nothing is clear on the specs of 800 series...it will be released but we dont know about the specs of any 800 series gpu for now...so get the 770...

Well it's obviously better, no? Also lil update, I can get a 4770k or more RAM if I opt for 760 now. Which i won't if I get a 770.

if u only plan on gaming then stick to 4670k, if u are going to do rendering or video editing then go for 4770k, otherwise 4670k is fine...and ya it will be better...

bcoz nobody knows when it is going to be released...are u willing to wait until that...probably 5-6 months..then u can wait....760 or 770 arent that bad mate...they are great for gaming...but still if u wnt to wait then sure u can...but there is still no confirmation that it will be released in 5-6 months..it could come soon also and it could even take more than that....now its up to u...

By saying next year I was meaning that I was ready to wait 12 months. Lol. All my friends have a 760 and they say they can play 60 fps just well, and I can overclock it.

From someone who owns both a 770 and a 760, the 770 performs exceptional well compared to the 760 which also guarantees you higher settings on more games etc without much of a price difference. Then when things about the 800 series become much more clear, get the 780 equivalent of the 800 series after selling the 770 which will save you a couple of coins.

How much of a FPS dif?

From what I remember when I played Far Cry 3 on the highest possible settings (including 8xMSAA) with the 760 (stock settings) it reached about 25-28 FPS whereas the 770 could easily reach 35-38 FPS, and all that for about £75 extra depending on which vendor you decide to get.
