Go to solution Solved by Middcore,

For young kids, if you want to invest the minimum amount of budget and setup, it's very hard to justify a PC over just getting them a Switch or maybe an Xbox Series S with GamePass.

How young?

What type of games do they want to play?

What actual budget is "not a lot of money"?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Agreed

Hopefully the Ryzen 6000 series apu will change that!

The current top-end Ryzen APU's cost almost as much (or more) than a Switch or Series S all by themselves, and there is no reason to think the next generation will be cheaper. The consoles will still have a huge edge in being much more "plug and play" in any case.
