Figured I should ask here before I buy one. I just got a pair of 6xx's, which I've heard are sort of hard to drive. I have a Scarlett Solo 3 DAC and I'm wondering if That'll be enough to drive them?

Try it out and see! Lol. If you already own it, it’s worth trying it out.

I still haven't figured out all the math's for amps on headphones, but that one doesn't seem to give the information you'd use, it looks even more foreign to me than usual.  The 6xx loves improvement's in the entire chain, everything from the media quality to the ears.  I've even had them wrecked by a poor quality adaptor.  That being said no harm in trying what you have and seeing what you think about it.

Audio go Brrrrrr

The Scarlett interfaces have pretty sad little headphone amps in them - I think it's less than 10 mW into 300 ohms. You may find that to be a noticeable limitation.

I quite like the design of Schiit's solid-state amplifiers. The Magni 3+ is a really nicely designed piece of equipment, both electrically and cosmetically (well, aside from that butt-ugly red soldermask they use on their PCBs). The Magnius adds balanced inputs and a better volume control (better channel matching) for an extra $100.

Honestly though spend the extra $50 on a asgard if you want a bigger amp cause the magnius for the sound isn't really that worth it vs a magni3+

The Asgard still has unbalanced inputs. From my standpoint, the difference between the Asgard and the Magnius is going to be quite small - both amplifiers are plenty powerful and have more or less negligible distortion. The Magnius is more powerful (assuming you use the differential output), but isn't as powerful if you just plug straight into the 1/4" jack, but it's still plenty powerful.

I would lend slight preference to the amplifier in the Asgard (since it has better single-ended performance than the Magnius), but I greatly prefer the input section of the Magnius - it will be far less susceptible to ground loops, has XLR connectors (better connector design) and is the type of input that the Scarlett is intended to drive.
