I dont get why you need 2 NLEs...

 

But yeah, Ae is also a sore spot but Blender works well with Rosetta (idk but i think by this point they should have native ARM app). If youre insisting on Mac at sub 1200, you honestly have no choice but getting an M1 macbook Air. Intel macs are there yes but youre basically on borrowed time as apps getting transitioned to ARM cant be translated back to x86 as Rosetta 2 is one way. At best Intel macbooks really gonna have 3-5 years left on their book before youre stuck with old apps.

Anyway, Honestly its very dependent on what you are editing with mainly. FCPX, Photoshop and Davinci Resolve already have proper native support, Premiere has one through Rosetta but theyre super buggy so if youre mainly premiere editor consider buying straight last generation gaming laptop with last gen nvidia gaming GPU if you need an editing laptop now (Not Rosetta's fault really, just typical Adobe spaghetti code)

Premiere, After Effects, and Davanci are actually a really nice workflow. You can use Premiere for the editing and sound design and within the timeline open the clip in AE for transitions, graphics, effects, and anything vfx wise. Then from there you can open the entire timeline in davanci and color grade

Um.. Premiere Pro runs native on M1 Silicon. That happened like half a year ago already.

 

Well, vor that Money, M1 Macbook Air is pretty much the only option. Even with 8gb Ram i would prefer it over a 6-7 year old 15" Macbook with Intel chip and 16gb Ram.

like, you absolutely can avoid every Intel Mac, that's how good the M1 models are.

 

If 13,3" is too small, then save up 2500 for the Macbook Pro 16". Unless the 14" will be enough, that's "just" 2000.
