Budget (including currency): TBD(GBP)

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (Mass Effect, Halo, Forza, Assassins Creed)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Planning on going for :

Intel Core i7-12700K

ASUS PRIME Z690-P WIFI D4 Motherboard

Asus ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card

NZXT Kraken X63 280mm CPU Cooler

G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory (2 x 8GB Sticks)

500GB Seagate Firecuda 520 M.2 PCIe Gen 4 Solid State Drive

Corsair RM850 80 PLUS Gold 850W PSU

Corsair Crystal 570X RGB Tempered Glass Case - Black

I'm aware some of the parts listed might be overkill for what I plan to do, but I want this build to last. Looking for what people think and if I should consider any different parts. I'd love to build it myself but will probably need to order a custom config as the chip shortage doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Uneccesary and overpriced

If you only want the aio for looks then assuming you are ok with potentially worse performance than a high end aircooler and ok with swapping the aio every 5 years then get a cheap 240mm aio, liquid freezer are prefferable as they actually perform very well and do actually match and even beat high end aircoolers so atleast youll also have good performance and also good value unlike with the nzxt crap

Tridentz is overpriced unless you wanna get the cl14 b die kits, get some cheaper rgb rams like tforce delta rgb or whatever is the cheapest rgb ram you can find, if you are looking to overclock the rams then buy some ballistix rgb as those have micron dies guaranteed and they usually do 4000+ with ease

You do not need a gen4 ssd since direct storage isnt even out yet so no point going for gen4 unless you deal with massive files like 8k vid regularly, get a bigger gen3 ssd, maybe kingston a2000

Airflow sucks ass because of the glass front panel so unless you wanna remove it then go for a mesh case like the 220t airflow or p400a digital

What resolution do you plan to play in? That would determine which graphics card would work better for you.

I'm aiming for 1440p but will be happy with 1080p. I'm looking to get something somewhat futureproof.

This would be good for 1440p today and the future as well:

I would say this build is more than enough for today's games with room for future AAA games. If this is too much, @VEXICUS option is also a good one. I would probably swap the SSD with a more premium one though. Here are some gen 3 options that are really good:

Storage: ADATA XPG GAMMIX S11 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  (£131.00 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Western Digital WD_BLACK SN750 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive  (£116.83 @ Amazon UK)
