Little help with something really stupid.

I have a windows xp machine and need to connect it to my mobile hotspot on my iphone 13 pro. My iphone supports USB tethering but windows xp doesn't appear to without a driver. (Which I can not find as most of the sites that had it don't have the file up anymore) Any help would be appreciated!  (Would be nice not to install a virus from an un-trustworthy website)

Well, first, why do you need to tether? Maybe we can find a solution that doesn't involve using a 20 year old operating system.

Just plugging a windows XP machine into the internet is a way to get a virus. Basically everything is exploitable in XP at this point. 
 

What do you need to connect it to the internet for? Can you just transfer whatever data you need to it on a USB stick? Connecting Win XP to the internet almost has no use as none of the browsers even support current SSL.

It might just be easier to compartmentalize the problem by solving the problem of wifi on that machine.  Get a USB wifi adapter for cheap online or in store and save the hassle of trying to find a driver.  Wifi adapters are built for older machines, so the likelihood of finding an XP compatible one is pretty high.

Think about it this way:  you are better off spending $25 on a wifi adapter than spending 5 hours on ancient web forums looking for a driver.  That's $5 an hour.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...
