I recently did some cable management in my pc because it was a mess, I completely turned of my pc, psu and unplugged it. Then disconnected the modular cables from the psu, did cable management so that it was a lot cleaner and didn't push against the side panel that much, though because there isn't that much space between the psu and the hard drive bracket (which at first I couldn't install because of the mess) the 24 pin atx and 8 pin cpu cables where (close to the psu) bended a bit (like 90 degrees but normally I shouldn't have forced anything) to go from the back of the pc to the psu. I reconnected all the cables to the psu and double checked everything, but when I pressed the power button on the case nothing happened (no case or chipset fan(s) spinning, no leds lighting up no display and I heard a quiet zooming sound coming from the psu when I listened closely).

I again checked everything multiple times, turned off/ back on the psu, tried using the reset button of the case by connecting it to the power switch pins, checked for any loose screws or cables against the motherboard or in the case, but nothing changed. Then I took an empty usb stick, plugged it in the bios usb port and pressed the Q flash plus button: the led on the stick started flickering like for around 10-20 second. I think that because it checked the stick like when I updated the bios when I build my pc this might mean that my motherboard is still ok but I'm sure.

Then I tried to test the psu: took it completely out of the case and connected atx pin 4 and 5 with a paperclip to test if the fan would start spinning and it did.

I also turned off and unplugged the pc, then took out the cmos battery and put it back in, connected the pc again and this time when I turned on the psu, the rgb on my 2 ram sticks light up after a few seconds. (but nothing else happend)

I've been looking for answers or more info for hours but no progress, my guess is that it's either the psu or the motherboard, but I I just can't find out which of those it is and I don't want to unnecessary replace anything.

Also: the 3 days before all this, my pc randomly crashed a few times with windows error codes '1006' and '0x0000010e' I was working on that but didn't find out exactly what it was, also in those days when I turned on my pc in the morning after it had been turned off the whole night, the fans and rgb went on but after around 3 to 5 seconds the pc fell out before there was display or anything, only leaving the rgb on my cpu cooler block on and when I pressed the power button again it all booted normally. (I think this may be because every evening I turned of the power strip, when I did this my pc was first turned off, but the psu was every time still on)

My pc (build it a month ago): Gigabyte x570 gaming x, corsair rm 550x, ryzen 5 5600g, IGPU, 1 TB m.2 ssd, 2 8gb ram sticks, windows 10

did you try reseating everything, especially the mobo power cables? also, do you happen to have another psu to try?

I reseated the ram and the sata cable, and no, I don't but I'm looking around to borrow one.

Also, if the ram rgb and q flash still works, does that mean my motherboard is ok? Or could it still be broken?

that doesn't rule out a mobo fault unfortunately, might be a good sign though. make sure to reaseat all of the connections from the psu to the mobo. is there any chance you hit the cpu cooler or anything like that?

I reseated every psu cable and what exactly do you mean with 'hit'?

i mean did you bump the cooler with your hand or a tool or something while doing the cable management?

another thing to try as well, try running the pc with 1 stick of ram at a time in every slot, to rule out a ram issue.

It's a aio liquid cooler, i did touch the cooling block but not like bump it.

do you have access to another pc you can individually test the components in to narrow it down? if not, it will be tough to narrow it down. if you can rule out psu, and ram, mobo seems likely, cpu would still be possible though.

Clear CMOS.

Use DDU to uninstall video drivers and reinstall if you haven't tried this already.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

I do not have spare parts, but there's an ICT'er who works a lot with pc's who I might be able to ask for help (though it might take a while to contact him)

Is there any way I can test the psu without another pc? (except for the paperclip test)

Also: the only thing I did was disconnecting the modular cables from the psu and then reconnecting it. Could I have bend the cables too much? or what could have gone wrong?

Further: when I slowly insert the power cord (when the psu is on) it makes at some point when the cord is like halfway plugged in, a crackling electric 'zzzzz' sound, as I push the cord further in it stops. I don't know or this is good or bad.

If it's the mobo, what could have gone wrong with it? a shortage?

Also, if the cpu doesn't work correctly, don't the fans start spinning and rgb go on if I would press the power button?

Cause that was the case when I first build my pc and hadn't updated the bios with q flash yet, since my the bios wasn't compatible with my cpu yet.
