No GPU detected with riser cable (came with Cablemod pci-e bracket kit)

felzyx

Hello!

I bought a cablemod vertical pci-e bracket, upon installing and trying to start, the motherboard failed to detect the GPU (white led indicator on the mobo, and one long+three short beeps)

After that, I searched a lot of topics about the issue, like turning above 4g decoding on, and forcing my motherboard pci-x16 to run in 3.0 (gen3) although it is 3.0 by default, there is no pci 4.0 support on this motherboard.

So I'm stuck for nearly one and half a day with this problem. I have literally lost my nerve to continue doing this kind of gpu positioning.

I checked the connections multiple times, riser cable is not loose, gpu is connected properly.

GPU however works normally when plugged directly to the pci-e x16 slot.

Riser cable is not faulty for sure.

My specs: ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II (latest BIOS)

ASUS DUAL RTX 3060 TI 8GB V2

Ryzen 5 2600

G.skill Aegis 2x8gb ddr4 3200mhz
