Hello there ! I am building a new gaming rig this summer , with a budget of $1000 and an extra $500 for a case , monitor , keyboard , and mouse .

I've been looking through a lot of cases recently , and I personally liked the the NZXT H440

Though I've heard it won't be good with air cooling . is that true ? How do I know if a case isn't good for air cooling ?

Or , can anyone recommend the best ATX case with the budget of $150 for air cooling.

Thanks :)

the H440 is great for air cooling :)

If there arent any fans removing the air from the graphic cards its got bad cooling, also a fan that feeds the air cooler on the CPU is very good :) such as my current case.. i really need to build my new pc.. im getting the Fractal R4 :)

The H440 raised a few eyebrows because of the thin air vents on the front and top. Most cases have more open fronts allowing for better airflow. NZXT also advertised the H440 as capable of dual radiator setups if I remember correctly. Again the limited airflow is a concern.

Remember the Air540 is a cube case, so it has a larger footprint. That said, it was designed for airflow and not so much watercooling.

Do you have a prefered brand of cases? A prefered style or size or something that helps us recommend a case?

The Fractal Design R4 is ~$100 on Newegg. Corsair 730T is $140. Corsair 450D is $120. Cooler Master HAF XB Evo is supposed to be ATX compatible, $95 on Newegg.

Node 804 is mATX not ATX.

The Corsair 450D and 760T are both really good options for an air cooled build. The also look pretty good.

Thanks a lot for the help guys , am looking at the air 540 , Not liking the limited HDD bays

and No , I don't prefer any brand on the other , though am not from the US so I don't have access to less famous brands

and brands like fractal design are weirdly over priced , Like the R2 is $175 on http://gear-up.me/chassis-and-psu/chassis.html "you can chance currency on the top right corner".

So my options are basically famous brands like corsair or cooler master

Considered matx? Smaller but still xfire/sli. If so, silverstone ft03 (not ft03 mini)

Uhm most standard atx cases just cool as good as any other case. Not sure why there's so much hype around the air 540's "amazing airflow" when theyre not doing any better than most cases. Half of the air intake fans blow in a regular atx case is lost, every brand you see these days marketing their airflow are nothing more besides gimmicks. Look at coolermasters haf cases, theyre just filled up with stupid gimmicks. The airflow design from a FT02/RV02 is atleast a smart & effective design, sad to see only one brand making cases with a 90° rotated motherboard tray >.<
