Low FPS: R9 290 + I7 4770K

Sjoger

Re-Install the drivers?

I get 40-50 FPS on a GTX 760 on Ultra w/ 4x MSAA, and on top of that i have a AMD A10 APU which is equivalent to Athlon 760k. So you should be getting allot higher FPS then me with a i7 and a 290...

Is this under demanding parts, or just non demanding?

did you enable 144hz ?

That's irrelevant to his FPS issue, the monitor will of course only pull 60 times per second, but framerate is how many frames are being rendered by the GPU a second (no necessarily the monitor). So, even without a +60Hz monitor, your computer can still render over 60 frames a second (you just won't see them).

Just running/Driving around...

In the towns though my CPU bottlenecks and gives about 30FPS.

Try other games and compare them to benchmarks you find on the internet as it might just be your game...

Not a hater, but a user of both, AMD's drivers are always not reliable, they release so many versions before a final stable one. Besides, the cards cannot maintain a decent minimum FPS as well, always fluctuating. Why not sale that shit 290 and wait for the 800 series?

hey i got the same video card but havent tried that game

first, make sure that the card is set to UBER MODE

theres a little switch on the card itself, flick the switch so that its closest to the rear of the card (the side without the monitor connections)

download Unigen Valley and run the benchmark. compare it to other results available from reviewers

also, try running that benchmark with the Teak GPU Program running in the background. once it completes benchmarking, you'll be able to see if your GPU was running at full Peg or not

tweak GPU can be found here:

Far cry 3 is poorly optimized. Don't worry.

I think it's actually quite average, 99% of the time both of my GPU's are at 97-98% (both of them too, and it runs at about the same FPS as the other games I play at the same settings)

I get around 80-120 at ultra  + anti-aliasing at 1440p, so I think 50-60 at 1080p is close to normal, but I'd expect maybe 50-90 ish..

The specs of the 880 has just been leaked. Personally I doubt if it was completely real, but it's a sign that the waves are starting to hit the shore. If you ask me, more information will emerge, and it will be released soon.. may take some waiting, but it's no longer an indefinite wait.
