So this guy is selling me a 3080ti for 1400 which is a really good price, but idk if anything is wrong with it. he showed me a video of him loading up into gears 5 but idk if i can trust it. i wanna buy the card but i just dont wanna spend 1400 on a card that could be bad or have something wrong with it and maybe thats why hes selling it for so low.

To see it in person is the big one. If he doesn't want to do that, you can walk away.

Also, if you go to buy it, make sure you bring at least one other guy with you (preferably one with a concealed carry permit) and leave your cash in the car. that way you can't get mugged and lose $1400.

Finally, remember the old saying, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I would ask if he could provide the video showing the GPU with it's serial number etc in the PC, then the GPU-Z monitoring and Furmark benchmark running on said PC for 10 minutes.

Current system. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X; MoBo: Gigabyte X570S Aorus Master; RAM: 2x Crucial Ballistix MAX 2x8 GB (BLM2K8G40C18U4B); GPU: RX 6900 XT Gigabyte Aorus Master; case: Fractal Design Meshify-2; Storage: Samsung 980PRO 1TB NVMe SSD + 2x Samsung 980 1TB NVMe SSD; PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-850; Cooling: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360.

Try to run a benchmark on screen (something like Heaven is fune) and make sure there aren't any artifacts and it's not performing like complete crap (i.e. 15FPS in Heaven 1080p). If it runs for like 5 minutes, you're probably good.

What is the difference between the price of this card vs a brand new one that comes with a warranty? If the difference is that big that it makes it worthwhile then go for it. If not then buy a new one. After all, what would you do if it dies within a few days? You’d be out 1400 and you’d still have to buy a new card. At the end of the day how much is peace of mind worth to you?
