Which is the best budget AM3+ motherboard for Fx-8320 ?

Go to solution Solved by sthzje,

I have the same CPU as you are looking to buy and I also have the Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard. I never had any problems with it. It may not be the best overclocking board but for that price you can't go wrong.

SO I am building my 1st PC and can't decide which motherboard to buy .

So far the decided Specs are

CPU = FX 8320

GPU = R7 260x

RAM 8 gb corsair vengeance 1600 mhz (4GBx2)

CASE = Source 210 or any other cheap but good enough  ATX mid tower

Hard Drives =

1 x Samsung 840 Evo 120 GB

1 x wd caviar blue 1tb

PSU = Still not decided what should I get ( I Will Post another Thread on that once the Mother Board is Decided).

MOTHER BOARD = You tell

NOTE

My Budget For the motherboard is around 80-100 USD or 6000 Indian Rupees (cheaper is Better but do give some options).(I AM FROM INDIA)

4 RAM slots are Necessary along with USB 3 And SATA 6GB/sec .

DON'T Forget TO mention the revision of the mother board

REGARDING MY SELECTION

I Am Aware That a FX 6300 with a R9 270 Will be a better Choice but the PC is not Primarily

for gaming SO the GPU and CPU are good for me.

And The HARD DRIVES are Form my Older Build Which were Upgraded Recently .

Thanks in Advance .

Do you have any link to sites where you are likely to get your stuff from, products in different countries tend to have a sizeable difference in pricing.

OK last Question I also found this motherboard ASUS M5A97 R2.0 LE and its cheap and the specs are almost the same

The Audio and USB ports are a bit different and It does not has some asus specific features which are

  Remote GO!

- USB BIOS Flashback
- MemOK!

Now My Question  is ARE THESE FEATURES USEFUL and is it worth the premium ?

when are they useful ?

Which one should I Pick ? Do consider Both (Thanks for the help)

Less USB Ports and AUDIO IS NOT A DEAL Breaker and M-ATX is cool .

I have a M5A99FX R2.0 and it's doing great with my little quad core CPU...
Gonna go for the FX-8350 cuz going higher like FX-9590 is not worth besides busting a big whole in your wallet.
This board can overclock decently with the right ram and voltage.
Check it out.

Well, the MemOK! feature is really usefull IMO. If you are having issues with RAM you just click the button and the motherboard will run the diagnostic. I used this feature in the past and it's really good. For the other two features I never used them but USB BIOS Flashback can be really usefull if you brick your BIOS. I would really recommend going with the non LE version but if you are going to buy the LE version, DO NOT overclock your CPU. This mobo doesn't have VRM heatsinks and they would overheat very quickly.

might look into the gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 (ver 4.0)

great for overclocking and latest chip set, it is a smidge over budget, but sacrificing

latest tech for cost might be detrimental later on in use.

and a 550watt PSU will be just fine. a bit over-watted, but some headroom to feel

comfortable with.
