So I got an old pc from a friend and I found something really weird when I took the block of the aio off. I know that since the pins on everything are gold plated, they shouldn't corrode, but I don't know what else to think. The aio is almost completely empty as well. There is corrosion on the aio block, ihs, mobo socket, and cpu pads. There are only 4 caps above the socket and they all look pristine, so i doubt they leaked. All the system does is turn on for a split second and then die. What im wondering is, is there any chance that either the cpu or the mobo could live, or is trying even worth the time. Anything helps 馃槉

Edit: I'm aware that the aio leaked but im confused about the fact that everyone says that the gold plating in mobo pins means no corrosion聽

It's pretty clear the AIO block leaked around the copper cold plate and the coolant leaked over the CPU, motherboard, and socket.

Keep in mind, this is a badly maintained 10yo system聽

You don't maintain them outside of cleaning the rad of dust.

The poor thing is garbage. And it took out a motherboard, possibly the Cpu, the Gpu and who knows what else until you test everything on a working board.

GL!
