Quoting across and between pages is cumbersome

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

Try to quote several users across multiple pages in a thread

What happened?

If I didn't manually click the editor to load after loading each page, quoting would eat what ever I'd drafted from the previous page
multi-quoting would sometimes lose how many users I wanted to quote when I switched pages, if I switched pages quickly
multi-quoting didn't support partial quoting
in order to place the cursor before using the ‘quote selection’ button (can be worked around by leaning hard on the clipboard and basically planning to reformat an ill-formatted or ill-ordered post, if you know in advance every single partial quotation you'll want to use)

What did you expect to happen?

I expected

the editor to follow me between pages without having to be loaded manually
for the editor to limit itself in size and follow me as I scrolled up on the page
for pagination not to involve actual page reloads in the browser and for the multiquote function to support partial quoting along the lines of ‘quote selection’
