What is the file type for chromebook? I noticed that exe files don't work on there. Is there a way to convert exe files to chromebook readable file?

Chromebooks only run apps from the chrome web store. It's a Linux based OS at heart, so even if you forced it to run executables, they wouldn't have an extension.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora

ChromeOS is based on Gentoo which uses source compilations. Unfortunately Google does not ship the tools necessary for this in ChromeOS (not that yiud honestly want to).

The closest you can get to a file type is a web application.

Y’all stick in 2016?

Chromebooks have had Google play Store support (so all android apps for x86 or ARM basically ), with the ability to sideload APK files for ages, nearly 20 major chrome versions, came in like chromeos 67.blah.blah.blah, it’s like 95.blah.blah.blah now.

Around that same time, chromebooks got a Linux beta terminal, which could run Linux apps (I think the terminal is Ubuntu , don’t take that at face value, it may be something else), so once again, it’s been nearly 20 major chrome revisions

plus, you can just install full Linux installs with things like Crouton and crostini, or just install a trafitional UEFI to install whatever you want, if it has the storage space

if you want I can help with some stuff with chromebooks, my laptop currently (ok one of two but the other one sucks) is a chromebook with a custom UEFI and a full xubuntu install

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Actually no I'm not. the Android apps  aren't even x86 native, the terminal still doesn't have a package manager as far as I know, and Crouton crostini are hack solutions at best while UEFI is limited to just the x86 models.

Its got APT:

https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/9145439?hl=en

Crouson it great, and runs great as well, its really convient to be able to switch between desktop linux and chromeos easily.

while some chromebooks are arm, almost all of them now are Atom or Celeron bassed, with a few rare athlons, so the chances that you can run the Mrchromebox.tech script on it is high.

well then I stand corrected and will never talk about chromebooks again since I have no plans of ever using one.
