Hey guys,

I am trying to choose what graphics card I want for my new build. I at first wanted to a GTX 780ti, but after thinking about it, I kinda went against it. I am planning on buying one card for now, but upgrading to SLI when I've got the money for it, and it would be stupid spending 1.4k on two graphics cards, which would be more than half of my build cost. Now I am wondering if having two GTX 780 in SLI would be about as good as two GTX 780ti in SLI. Thoughts?

Also, if I were to choose the dual GTX 780, which one is actually the best. They have many on the market, and I am a big ASUS fan, and are they all pretty much the same besides the reference card? Thoughts?

Thank you

2x 780s will have the same performance gap that 1 780 and the 780ti have - so no sli 780s are slower than sli 780tis

I dont think its stupid spending half your rig amount of graphics cards, seems the sensible thing to do. I hate when people get crazy rigs but have really terrible graphics cards. If you are heavy into gaming, this should be where the majority of money should go, balanced with a good CPU too

I'd with 780s, the price difference between a 780 and a 780 Ti is bigger than the performance gain.

Personally I prefer going with EVGA, they're quiet, have good customer service, good tweaking software and simply look good in my opinion :P

Get an EVGA GTX 780. Grab another one of those later and you'll be set :)

Diddo.

I own an EVGA GTX 780 and am saving up for a second to SLI. Also waiting for a price drop; hopefully when the next phase of GFX cards come out (Maxwell or Broadwell or BroadMax I don't care)

So, being how this card has done me wonders, Overclocking and all, I would feel wrong not to recommend it.

Between the 780 and 780ti, I would (and did) go with the 780. The price-to-performance ratio just makes good sense.

However, between all of the GTX 780's, the only one I would get, would be either EVGA or ASUS. Choice is yours mate~

GTX 780 SLI will be somewhat lower than a GTX 780 Ti SLI, though why not just get one 780 Ti for now?

Because there's a hefty price difference, as he mentioned.

And again, that price difference rarely merits the price-to-performance difference.

As such, Bang for the Buck is always the common denominator in building PCs with any budget.

You could go with Asus, Evga or MSI. I have a Palit 780, but I got it only because it was on sale.

Theres a pretty big price difference in 2x 780s and a 780 ti anyways, and the 780ti can pretty much handle anything it can get right now. Sort of wondering how he is using it... He's paying for the unneeded performance gain anyways if he is just going for gaming >.>

Nono, he is only getting one GFX Card at this time. He's going to SLI in the future.

Rather, he's asking for the price between just one of the two.

At least, that's how I read it.  :P

so people are saying go with the EVGA gtx 780?

Which one though? They have so many evga gtx 780s: here

whats the differences between the normal, classified, dual, and superclocked?

and yes, im buying one gpu for now, and then one later

If you can afford the Classy, go for it. That's what i ended up choosing after much debate between my head and wallet.
