AX1600i

Alder Lake

Doing my research I found that this is apparently quieter than the bequiet dark power 12 1500W, is this true?

also, before you ask, I do need the wattage of this PSU, if not two, so don't try to cut down on that

Entirely depends on the load being put on them because basically both are very quiet units until you run them near or at max load then both simply get somewhat loud.

Hence why disclosing the hardware and intention is quite important here. Because if a gpu is running a intense task with fast fans then yeah psu noise doesn't matter that gpu will be louder.

12900k uses up to 400 watts (maybe more in my case, will get to that in a minute)

3090ti will probably use close to 500 watts, and should release by the time I buy the PC

and most of all, I'm planning on buying a cryo cooler, which both allows me to **superclock** the CPU, along with taking around 1000 watts alone

and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's not ideal to by running your PSU at 90%+ at all times

even if the CPU uses 200, the GPU uses 400, and the cooler uses 800, and maybe 100 from all my other parts, which totals at 1500W, and that's a bit more than I'd feel comfortable to use 2 PSUs, one for the cooler, one for the rest of the PC

This is why I'm planning on getting 2 PSUs

the PC should be pretty quiet, so running a PSU at 90% load would kind of ruin that

Ok for what task? You might not even need this much power at all if you set it up correctly.

Or you just dump the system in another room and run some cables plenty of options.

As for those noise level differences pretty much negligible.

I mean they could do what I accidentally did with a friends computer. It's a full positive pressure setup and I accidentally installed the psu with fan up. It's a rm1000x with hybrid mode in a 3900x rtx 2080 super system and I don't think the fan has ever had to work a day in it's life :p.

that second option isn't really clean, it would be rather foolish to spend $6,000 on a PC (that's already true), then move it to another room and ignore it

still better, and also stock of the 1600i seems to be better

Oh no just not getting fresh air from the bottom but that was what made it never use the fan as the pressure from the other fans in the case was pushing a bit heated air through it. Enough to keep it cooled and never needing to run the fan.

For 6k you are getting at best a 5950x + 3090? That thing does totally fine on even a 1000w let alone a 1500-1600w those won't even be stressed.

Go to the build help part of the forum and ask for advice there people will gladly help you get a good computer for your money instead of you blowing what could be 1/12th of the budget on a not actually that good psu setup.

by the time I buy it it will most likely be 3090ti and 12900k (figured I'd wait a bit for 12th gen, while still following intel)

also I already have a PC that costs ~$4000, but it's not strong enough

also you sort of forget the cryo cooler...

those take ~1kw alone, and it's not really ideal to always run your PSU at 90%

Tbh if you are an oc nut like me then might aswell have subzero ram cooling not to mention good overclocking rams, pref b die rams like viper steel 4400 cl19

Rams dont really consume much power so a 72w tec would prob be enough here and you can prob just hook it up to some 240mm aio though you will need to do some insulating and abit of fabricating (just start cutting some metal and solder sht together)

Im also looking at tec cooling for my rams but thats just because i wanna reach high fsbs once my ep45 ud3p is repaired (nb is shot)

most likely somewhere in the realm of DDR5-8000 CL 30

the back of my case actually has a spot for a 240m rad, that might work

then again, I heard that RAM cooling and TEC cooling aren't important at all
