So I bought my first gaming pc and I've been trying to run curseforge atm 6 and 7 for minecraft I feel like my pc should be able to run it but it spikes cpu and memory to 100 percent and crashes or if it does load its very laggy and stutters. The picture is the computer I bought I was wondering if I needed to set anytbing up or if yall are having any trouble with it. Thanks in advance

-> Moved to Troubleshooting

***

With prebuilds, its more than likely there's some bloatware that can cause this. That said, have you checked on Task Manager, what is actually spiking your CPU or RAM usage?

Yep, remove dragon center and all that fluff that came probably pre-installed,  especially dragon center seems to bog down any pc for whatever reason.

Arrange that list per Memory usage. 400Mb for AV is already worrying, and can be the reason. If that is your AV and not something you don't know about.

No I have everything off in the background and I use the Nvidia optimizer

You have Discord for example. Background means all software that are open, be it just in taskbar or hidden in notification area. Most of them load when you login, so basic tweak is to only allow loading from software you know and actually use.

Hi all

Are you running 32 bit windows or 64 bit

32 bit windows is capped to 4gb and 64 gb is 2tb

to see this go start- about your pc and look for system type. this will say x64 or x32

by seeing ram usage nearly full at 61% @3281.2mb I have a sneaky suspision this may be the problem

Hope this helps

But with 4GB 61% would be something like 2400mb, he's using more, so it can't be x32.

And generally 61% is not great,  but also not an issue,  unless this is always like that... seeing OP has a lot of weird background processes running,  that could be it too,  of course ...
