PC Crash - Very High Power Usage - Upgrade options

TheMedoGuy

Windows 11 Pro Build - 22000.282

Processor AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB = 2 x 16gb - G.Skill Hynix F4-3600C19-16GSXWB Sniper X Urban Camo
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
GPU AMD 5700 XT
Power Supply:   - Armaggeddon (Voltron Gold Series 600W ) RGB Computer Power Supply

So it came to my attention via another pc help forum that my psu and ram are trouble for my pc. I was suggested to stop using my pc until i swap my psu, is it that bad? also i was suggested to buy Corsair RM750 (2021), RM Series, 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular ATX Power Supply is it enough for my pc, i am overclocking the ram, processor and gpu.

I also have a Antec Signature 1000W 80+ Titanium is it good? is it an overkill? also price wise would it bee better to return it and get above suggestion at more then half the price?

You can't use this power supply.  This thing is a joke.

If you have the Antec already, why not use it and see how the machine performs?

It would be my first time installing a psu so thought id get some opinions first before I try my hands on changing one. Plus it would be better to return it in its brand new condition if i was going to send it back but since i got it from amazon i believe i can still send it back after i try it out which isn't bad like you suggested.

Bad? that thing is absolutely terrible.

If you already have the Antec go for it, it's more than enough, high quality and also gives you a tremendous amount of headroom in case you want to upgrade later.

Yeah Ill probably go with that , thanks for suggestion, ama update here once i install it today.

So i have installed it now, a few hiccups by accidently removing the front panel power connector and freaking out but its all good now and working.

What is that thing even, did OP get it from a cereal box? Why do people spend like 1k on GPU, 500 on CPU, 300 on MOBO and then damn get PSU from a cereal box???? Then they'll claim "OC" everything as well??? What makes them believe at this point that they (and the system) is capable of running an OC?? But then comes out they also have a 1000W PSU from a reputable brand in a box??????????

OP did you swap cables out as well? Use cables from the correct PSU. Could've easily saved money and headache by using the Corsair PSU (or any other reputable brand one) from the beginning.

People, due to years spend living, rightly assume that power is power.  Any PSU is the same as any other.  Simply because when we plug something in at our homes...it works.  Lights, microwave, refrigerator, TV, etc.  Similar to water.  We've learned that electricity "just works".

It's not until they build a PC do they learn there are differences, usually after the fact.  Like this.

So it's completely understandable that the PSU is the most misunderstood and misbought item in a build, from my standpoint.

Bought the pc pre made already about a year ago, then bought another psu when I ran into problems, but didn't want to swap without getting advise first on a forum.  Used all the cables that came with new psu, cant really use old one even if i wanted since its not modular.
