My 2080s Hybrid hotter than normal?

Aaactive

Hello all,

I've had this card for about a year and a half now and it's been great.  When it was new it would normally max out at around 52c give or take under full gaming load.  Now it's maxing around 71c under load playing the same game.  Nothing has changed hardware, I have amazing airflow in the case,. All stock speeds no OC, lower limit 100% .  Even while playing wow classic with a frame cap of 100 on it breaks 70c when before it was rare to break 50.

Should I apply new thermal paste?  I can't find a video or instructions of a teardown for a 2080s Seahawk and I know it's not the time to dmg/ break a gpu.  Any advice would be amazing and thank you.

It's probably clogged up pretty badly if you've never cleaned it before. It's always best practice to AT LEAST clean out your pc from dust once a year. I simply recommend one of those pc duster things instead of compressed air cans as well 3 decent cans = one of those that will last basically forever. Unless you have access to a compressor as in that case use that at about 2-3bar of pressure.

Again be careful that the pressure isn't too high.

When you do this, put your finger on the fam your blowing, or stick a pencil through the blade. If you hit it with compressed air you can fry the fan from it spinning too quickly. But I do this all the time, just be careful and it’ll all be fine.

But it makes a cool sound when it spins really fast 🙂  Yes, this is important, I did break a fan in a PSU by doing this many years ago..
