Which of the well-known tech conglomerates do you hate the most?

pythonmegapixel

I'm torn between Adobe and Amazon, which are the two of them I boycott outright.

Adobe - perpetrators of horrible DRM for both their own software and things like books. Also they vehemently refuse to support Linux for anything.

Amazon - extremely monopolistic and exploitative of workers, along with many other ethical concerns. They are gradually stifling competition, and when they become an absolute monopoly, it will wreak havoc.

What you count as a tech conglomerate is up to you, but I'm going to say it has to be a fairly well-known name and should operate internationally. I'd say that most mainstream OEMs count, but please don't turn this into another of those "Me had one bad Dell laptop, me hate Dell now" threads - you should actually have a rational reason if possible.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

They all suck, and it's 100% expected. This let's all hate on one company because they do things we don't like is ridiculous, because they literally all do the same kind of stuff, or similar. Your problem is with capitalism, or rather, unchecked capitalism. That's where laws and regulations come into play. Left unchecked, any company is always going to do whatever makes them an extra penny, unless there's a law or regulation keeping them from doing so.

So if your have a problem with DRM, your problem is with your representatives in government who allow DRM to exist. If you have a problem with the way workers are treated, your problem is with your representatives that allow that treatment to continue unchecked.

Hating on any company is an exercise in futility. It's like being mad at a dog because it barks. That's what dogs do.

AVID, you know adobe and apple? well if you do AVID is short of combination of both of those but much much worse, their hardware is expensive af and the software is DRM jungle, which kinda shame since their software ie. pro tools and media composer is absolutely good for something like post productions
