System becomes unresponsive when sharing screen in Zoom

So about 2 weeks ago I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3i. The laptop itself didnt seem to come with any of the infamous antivirus software as far as I know. I run the device with an external 21' monitor and have it plugged in when using at home.

As online classes picked up, Zoom was frequently used. I noticed that when trying to use the Share Screen function in zoom my laptop becomes completely unresponsive. I recreated the scenario with Task Manager open, and noticed the RAM usage didnt seem to go above 60%. But GPU usage was all over the place going from 0% to 100%, while both displays kept blacking out and returning.

The specs of the device is
Core i5 11300h

Gtx1650

8GB of RAM (4GB soldered onto motherboard, 4GB added via SODIMM slot)

512GB storage.

I'd be happy to provide anymore information needed to solve my issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.
