how do you use the folding at home control ?

You need to quote or tag people, otherwise we get no notification of your reply.

For remote control, you need to enable remote access in the client's configuration (the F@H client acts as a server for web or control)

<config>

  ...other config...

  <allow v='192.168.1.0/24'/>

  <!-- Remote Command Server -->
  <password v='password comes here'/>

</config>

Adjust "192.168.1.0/24" to match the IP range of your local network.

You should then be able to open remote control on any PC in your network and add the client by entering its IP and the password.

This is only possible after the client has been set up and started, of course. So you need to make the initial configuration on the Pi's terminal or UI.

I have tried installing F@H on my rpi4 but it just won't work. Do you have/know any comprehensible up to date guides on this subject?

I have an ASUS G14 2021 with Manjaro KDE and I am a professional Linux NoOB and also pretty bad at General Computing.

Well, what have you tried so far?

Should be as easy as downloading the .deb for arm and installing it

The web client should be at 127.0.0.1:7396 (at least it is for me), maybe you need to open a port or something?

I'll admit I don't know much

"A high ideal missed by a little, is far better than low ideal that is achievable, yet far less effective"

If you think I'm wrong, correct me. If I've offended you in some way tell me what it is and how I can correct it. I want to learn, and along the way one can make mistakes; Being wrong helps you learn what's right.

Instead of 127.0.0.1 you'll probably have to use whatever the RasPi's IP is on your network, unless you're running the browser on the Pi itself.

The web service is only available once you've configured and started F@H. Not sure of the .deb creates a service file for you.

Have a look here:

Thanks I will try this.
