Custom 4:3 resolution

In nvidia control panel it works for regular 1080p but if its 1440x1080 it doesnt work it just goes back to the resolution i currently have can someone help me?

If it doesn't work that means your display simply cannot accept a signal with this resolution, thus sending the signal to nvidia control panel to revert the settings. Most monitors support a wide range of resolutions, but not every single one. Especially not something like 1440x1080 that literally no monitor uses natively.

I like the thought process (4:3 with letterboxing on a 16:9), but yes, virtually all 16:9 monitors are going to be as resistant to any 4:3 resolutions as your S.O. is to you going in dry.

I've been able to get 1440x1080 and 1920x1440 working just fine. My monitors have just picked both up as being the normal 16:9 resolutions even though they're technically not. I'm pretty sure everything just gets done on the GPU since my display doesn't even reset going from 4:3 1440p to regular 16:9.
