Game bar only shows

just trying to activate the performance tab to read my fps.. but theres no options since I reinstalled.

More information is needed I suspect. I don’t know what app that is, what kind of computer it is running on, or what change might have been made to precipitate this.  There are pinned posts at the top of the troubleshooting section that include they type of info commonly needed.

sorry. i have no idea why but when i reinstalled windows it gave me the like the very first version of windows 10 and didnt run any automatic updates until i checked for them. where it wasnt even installed solved it. it even gave me the first version of edge that couldnt play 1080p youtube videos lol.

No worries.  Such things occur.   fixed? Not fixed? I don’t have an answer for the windows version thing myself though someone might.

as soon as the windows updated it wasnt even the current version and took a while i thought they do that in installation but this time it just gave me like the base model of windows 10 that came with my pc like 5 years ago lol.

Ah.  I assumed you then updated it. Have you? Is it working with the old version?

everythings worked out. its funny to see how much windows 10 has evolved since release. the first version of edge was literally crap. lol.

Very odd.  Fixed by an all-the-way rollback.  I’m not sure a version of win10 that old is secure.  No security updates.  Kinda curious how far you could roll forward before it stops working right again. Lotta work to find out I suppose. Might have to be done though just to get the security updates.  As far as crap edge goes there are other browsers you can use.  I kinda prefer edge to chrome because it’s basically chrome with less BS (though evicting bing is a pita.  Bing would be a decent search engine if they didn’t try to monetize it so hard.  Google learned that one early. Currently I use duck-duck-go, which seems to function OK) but chrome or Firefox or Opera all function fine.

as soon as i checked for updates it gave me the newest available. this sucks tho cuz my i7 6700 is almost 4ghz but doesnt support w11.

Yeah, standard auto updates wouldn’t work for that.  You’d have to download each update seperately and apply them one by one. ‘s a lot of annoyance and work. There should be a tutorial on how exactly to do it on the net somewhere.  I see people do that sort of thing here so I know it’s possible with win10.  Probably involves turning specific things off.

i had to check for updates like 5 times. lol.

So you did go up by at least some versions instead of all at once. Did you test between them?

im not sure exactly when the fps counter came to game bar but it just auto updated to the newest available version that had it.
